Iowa Central Community College will host the Sub District FFA Career Development Contest on February 26th, in the Applied Science & Technology Building (AST). The event is free and open to the public.
The competition allows FFA members the opportunity to develop, practice, and demonstrate skill needed in the many career opportunities in agriculture today.
Mike Robertson expects around 150 students from area schools to compete in the contest.
A few of the 25 Career Development events include job interviewing, extemporaneous speaking, parliamentary procedures, Ag broadcasting, sales, and a program of other activities.
Students who qualify will move on to compete in district, state, and national events.
National FFA organizations provide leadership, personal growth and career success training to students in grades seven through twelfth throughout the U.S.
