FORT DODGE – The students in the Iowa Central Computer Networking Program again placed well at the Internet-Scale Event Attack and Generation Environment (ISEAGE) Cyber Defense Competitions this year. The students competed in the junior college competition held at Iowa State in the fall and finished fourth. Iowa Central was invited to the National Competition against the top two- and four-year school in the spring and finished sixth overall.

At the competition, students were tasked with creating a network and protecting it from teams of Computer Programming graduates and professionals that attacked and tried to crash the network. Teams earned points based on the amount of the time network remained running and serving customers. The teams also earned points for documenting the attacks.
