FORT DODGE – The Iowa Central Broadcasting Department, 88.1 KICB The Point, will host its first Bacon Radio Social beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Willow Ridge. The bacon bonanza will feature a five-course, bacon-inspired meal prepared by the Iowa Central Culinary Arts Department. The event will also feature live entertainment from Cody McClintock, raffles and auctions.
“We want to be able to go to some competitions and seminars around the country, and this dinner will help us work towards funding that,” said Rusty McNeil, Iowa Central’s Broadcasting Coordinator. “With the recent success of the (Blue Ribbon) Bacon Festival in Des Moines, and the rising popularity of bacon, we figured we’d hook our wagons to it as well.”
Tickets for the social are $35 and they can be purchased in person at the Iowa Central Bookstore, KICB studios (AST 111) or Willow Ridge. Tickets can also be purchased by calling McNeil at 515-574-1213.
