FORT DODGE – The Iowa Central Student Senate is hosting “Dance for a Cure” on Wednesday, March 27, at the Opera House in Fort Dodge. The dance will help raise funds for the University of Iowa Children’s Cancer Hospital.
“Student Senate was looking for a community service project this year. This idea came up and it was a hit,” said Student Senate co-advisor Jenny Shivers. “We are starting on a small scale this year but hope to grow it over the next few years.”
To help raise finds, Student Senate members sold t-shirts for the event for $12. In addition to t-shirts, Student Senate members also sold rubber bracelets for $3 that came in four different colors with the phrase “WE DANCE FOR A CURE” imprinted on it. The bracelets also serve as an admission ticket for the event.
The dance will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Opera House and run until 11:00 p.m. Students that did not purchase a bracelet in advance will be able to purchase one at the door.
