FORT DODGE – The Iowa Central Dental Hygiene Department will be hosting its annual Give Kids a Smile Day event on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Dental Hygiene Clinic located in room 102 in the Applied Science and Technology on the Fort Dodge Camps from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
The department will be performing free restorative care for children 17 and younger. Care will only be given by appointment so call Emily Benjamin at 515-574-1327 to make an appointment.
The dental hygiene students, along with the help of local dentists, will provide several free services including x-rays, fillings, sealants, extractions, and dental exams.
The nationwide program is sponsored by the American Dental Association. It is celebrating its eleventh year of Give Kids a Smile Day and this will be Iowa Central’s sixth year working with the event. Give Kids a Smile is meant to accomplish two things—help children get the dental care they so desperately need and raise awareness that our children deserve a better health care system that addresses their dental health.
