FORT DODGE - Iowa Central Community College’s brand new East Campus opened its doors this week and is already getting put to use as Cargill began employee training sessions right away on the new campus.
Iowa Central was able to create the East Campus after it purchased the former Smithway building this summer and began renovations. The East Campus will be the new home of Iowa Central’s non-credit classes in addition to the numerous trade shows, conventions and local business and industry training that Iowa Central and the city of Fort Dodge host. In the future, Iowa Central hopes to also move some traditional programs onto the campus. The Economic Development office has already made the move to the East Campus.
The campus boasts four large classrooms in addition to a computer lab and two large trucking bays. Also, parking will no longer be an issue as the East Campus boasts more than enough parking.
