Iowa Central Art show opens December 6

FORT DODGE - The Iowa Central Art Department will be hosting its annual Iowa Central College Art Show December 6-13.

Students in the Iowa Central art classes will have their works on display throughout the event in the Triton Art Gallery located in the lobby of Decker Auditorium. Dozens of photos, paintings, drawings and sculpture created by Iowa Central students will be on display throughout the event. The show will conclude on Thursday, December 13 with a public reception for the artists from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the gallery. The pieces will be judged during the week and the juror’s comments and awards will be announced at 6:00 p.m. during the reception.

“This is an exciting time and we encourage everyone to come out and congratulate our student artists,” said Iowa Central art professor Maureen Seamonds.

The Triton Art Gallery will be open for public viewing on Thursday, December 6, and Friday, December 7, before and after the Performing Arts Department’s Holiday Concert performances in Decker Auditorium. The gallery will also be open on Saturday, December 8, and Sunday, December 9, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Additional tours can be scheduled by contacting Maureen Seamonds at 515-574-1178.
