Many Students at Iowa Central are theatre majors who start with Iowa Central to gain performance experience and more individualized attention.  The directors then assist those students with audition preparation as they transfer to further their studies.  Other students take Iowa Central theatre courses in order to better prepare for careers in communication, broadcasting, teaching, business – any career path which requires strong communication skills and performance confidence.  Many plan to be active participants and supporters of the Arts without making them career options.

Performance Opportunities

There are various opportunities for students to perform at Iowa Central within the Theatre department. Below is a listing of those opportunities:

• Fall Play in October – Auditions on first day of classes.
• Improvisation Theatre for Spotlight on the Stars.
• Spring Musical in February – Auditions in November.
• Ensemble and Improvisation teams throughout the year.
• Senior and Junior Visit Days.
