Trivia XXXIX: The World Series of Trivia

Wednesday, April 14th and Thursday, April 15th

Trivia XXXIX: The World Series of Trivia1) How to Enter:
Register online starting Monday, April 12th, 2010.

Each team must provide the following:

  • A phone number where you can be reached during the contest. This needs to be the phone number at the location where you will be playing the contest.
  • A team captain. This will be the contact person for your team.
  • A team name, G rated please.
  • Team member names.

You are INELIGIBLE to play Trivia 2010 if:

  • You are a present or former KICB staff member or an immediate relative or a household member of a KICB staff member.
  • Staff, immediate family, and household members of employees of radio stations within a sixty mile radius of Fort Dodge.
  • Underwriters of Trivia 2010, their households, and immediate families.

2) In order to play Trivia 2010 you must be registered before April 14th, 2010 at 3:00pm CST.  REGISTRATION IS ALLOWED DURING THE FIRST DAY OF GAME PLAY!!!

3) The Point Value for each question will be stated on the air as the question is being read.

4) Once the question is pronounced “dead” on the air, no further answers will be accepted for that question.

5) The ONLY way you can answer a trivia question is to call our trivia number 576-1941. No answers will be accepted on any of our other phone lines.

6) Answering the question: When a team calls the trivia line to answer a trivia question, we will only accept the first answer for that call. If you are correct, your team will be awarded the points.  If you are not correct, your team will have to call again to attempt to answer the question. KICB may limit the number of guesses you can make for certain questions.  This will be announced at the time the question is asked on the air.

7) The “Scavenger Hunt” Contest portion of Trivia 2010 will be held Thursday, April 15 from 10:00am – 1:00pm.

  • All clues for the “Hidden DJ” are read the top of the hour ONCE
  • The on-air announcer will not repeat clues off-air
  • Each team must turn in 5 items from the Scavenger Hunt and a hardcopy picture of the “Hidden DJ” that KICB will keep. We will not accept electronic pictures.
  • All teams have until 4:00 pm CST April 15th to turn items in for the “Scavenger Hunt”.
  • To be awarded points for the “Scavenger Hunt,” you must have all of the items, including the photo of your team with the hidden DJ, or you will not receive any points for the “Scavenger Hunt”. No substitutions and no partial points or credit will be awarded.

8) The top three teams with the most points at the end of Trivia 2010 will receive various prize packages.

9) No Jam Teams! If a team continues to call the trivia line with the intention of jamming up our trivia lines to prevent other teams from participating they will be dropped from the contest and their point total will be erased.

10) As a condition of entry, all contestants acknowledge that KICB has the right to publish the winners' names, character likeness, voice or all matters incidental herein. All prizes are nontransferable and no cash substitution of prizes is allowed. Winners agree that they are responsible for any and all taxes on prizes received. In the event a team chooses not to accept the prize, they forfeit all claims to that prize. KICB then has the right, at its discretion, to award a prize to contest runner-ups. In the event there are no eligible runner-up contestants, KICB may choose to declare that prize forfeit.

11) In the event the top three winning teams are discovered to have shared members, KICB may, at its discretion, declare that team (or teams) ineligible for prizes.

12) All Trivia 2010 decisions will be made by KICB and are final.
