Procedures regarding Finals Week:

  1. This schedule is mandatory for all arts and sciences courses. Instructors in other areas have the option of using this schedule. However, this schedule has precedence if conflicts arise.
  2. Finals are to be administered per the first class meeting day of the week regardless of the number of days each week that the class meets.
  3. No final will be administered before its schedule time; however, any student scheduled for more than two exams on a given day, or at the same time, will take the exam for the course listed last alphabetically by course prefix during the scheduled exam time. It will be up to the student and instructor in the course listed first alphabetically to arrange another exam time, if needed. The student must provide a current schedule to the instructor for verification.
  4. Final exams will be held in the regular classroom in which the course is now being taught unless specified in the course syllabus or communicated by the instructor.
  5. Evening classes will give final exams during the last week beginning the night of Monday, May 4, 2015.
  6. Instructors must post their schedule for finals week at their office area and communicate their schedule verbally or in printed format to students by Friday, May 1, 2015.
  7. If one of the exams cannot be taken due to inclement weather, the exam will be taken at the same scheduled time on one of the three time periods on Friday, May 8, 2015, or at the discretion of the instructor during final exam week.
  8. All distance education courses final exam dates and times may be found in the course syllabus.
  9. ALL students are required to take an exam or a meaningful assessment activity per the above procedures.
  10. Usage of the three allotted make-up times on Friday, May 8, 2015, should be initiated by the instructor for any test conflicts. These times may also be utilized for any weather cancellations.
  11. If a student has an emergency situation which would cause them to miss a final, the student needs to notify the instructor in advance of the final date and time and make advance arrangements with the appropriate Dean and Dave Grosland, Vice President of Instruction.
  12. If students do not attend their final(s) on the scheduled dates and times due to an extreme circumstance, they will not be allowed to makeup the final(s) missed unless the appropriate Dean and Dave Grosland, Vice President of Instruction, determine in their discretion that there is good cause. Such permission is very rarely given.
