Excel for Accounting

This course is designed to provide the student experience in applying accounting knowledge and skills to Microsoft Excel. Topics covered include: Excel basics, using formulas (beginning, intermediate and advanced), formatting, template tutorial, working with tables, data analysis features, automating repetitive tasks, importing, exporting, and distributing data, customizing, financial accounting, management accounting, financial statements, inventory, payroll, depreciation, amortization, cost of goods manufactured, job order cost accounting, process costing, and cost-volume-profit analysis. The applications will be done on a computer. Prerequisite: ACC 142, Financial Accounting or ACC 111, Introduction to Accounting.
