This degree will be an A.A.S. in Health and Beauty Management. The purpose of the program will be to provide students with a comprehensive program to prepare them for professions in the health and beauty fields. By incorporating college level business courses along with the courses required to prepare students to pass the state board exams, this degree will give the student opportunity to progress further within their field and give them the essential skills that will help them be successful as self employed cosmetologists. Iowa Central Community College and La' James International Colleges have formed a partnership for the delivery of this program that combines licensure with an associate in applied science degree component.
To graduate with an A.A.S. in Health and Beauty Management, from Iowa Central Community College, a student must complete the following:
1. Must have graduated from La’ James International College with a Diploma in Cosmetology
2. Be certified by the State of Iowa as a Licensed Cosmetologist
3. Complete the 18 credits required by Iowa Central Community College
4. Students must be enrolled at Iowa Central Community College upon graduation
