Two Tritons have Outstanding Years in Pro Ball
Two former Iowa Central Tritons had outstanding years in professional baseball this past summer. Brett Jensen, a right handed pitcher, was chosen by the Detroit Tigers in the 14th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Joe Anthosen signed a free agent contract with the Rockford Riverhawks, an independent team in the Frontier League.
Jensen was a First Team All-American at Iowa Central in 2003. He then transferred onto the University of Nebraska. He played this summer for the Oneonita Tigers. This is the class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Jensen was selected for the All-Star Team after earning 17 saves and posting a 0.67 ERA. He recorded 31 strikeouts against only 5 base on balls in 26.2 innings.
Anthonsen was a 2 time First Team All-Regional selection at Iowa Central from 2002-2003. He then transferred onto Campbell University. Anthonsen also was selected for the All-Star team while posting a .287 AVG with 16 doubles and 22 stolen bases.
